Toxic Candy pg 8

Normally Mercy might like to stick around and gloat, but it’s only a matter of time before the girls start asking her questions she doesn’t want to have deal with…

Twisting the knife

…I’m tempted to do a follow-up where Violet suggests that “Targaryen” would’ve been better than “show poodle”, but 1.) Mercy might not get the reference, 2.) Vi shouldn’t be watching Game of Thrones, and 3.) I have too many follow-ups planned as it is…

Toxic Candy pg 6

Picking up where we left off at page 4, Mercy may just strangle Candice before the day is done…

Things that didn’t make the final cut –

  • Daisy’s “they’re called breasts” line used to go further – “surely you’re rich enough to buy yourself a pair!”. That bit was cut simply because threw off the flow of Candice’s mud-slinging.
  • Right up until publication, Mercy had a line or two in the last panel. It went through several rewrites, which all amounted to “this means war”. In the end, having her say nothing made more sense.

Killing with Cuteness

As originally planned, the ending of “The Dark Corner” wouldn’t have been the end at all. This would have been its next page. Unfortunately, by that point I was in no mood to continue.

A Challenger Approaches! (again)

Almost two years in the making, Daisy is finally going to face off against her nemesis, Candice!

This chapter was originally planned as a direct follow-up/extension to The Dark Corner. But by the time that chapter’s last page was completed, I was too burned out to continue it for another 8-12 pages. I’d told myself that I’d get back to it after taking a break and working on other ideas, but those ideas, work, and more burn-out kept me away from it for a year and a half. Once I’d finally started it, I’d managed to get the first seven pages drawn & assembled, but work kept me from finishing them for several more months…

Stocking Stuffers

Originally there was going to be a couple more panels to make this a full comic page, but there was no time. The gag I’d planned for those panels will most definitely be recycled later, though!

Late Christmas

Far too often, I’ll have an idea but not enough time or energy to work on it. This was one of those. It started as a pinup, then became a 2-3 page comic, but my schedule forced me to cut back to just a pinup. After Christmas I decided to do the first comic page anyway, because the pinup just isn’t complete without it.
